When we visited Sea World back in December we noticed that part of it was under construction and we wondered what exactly it was that they were building. Well, we don’t have to wonder anymore as MAKO will open today.
Mako is Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster and will be situated in the newly designed Shark Wreck Reef. Covering two acres the shark themed are will incorporate the Mako coaster as well as Shark encounter, sharks underwater grill, shops, and educational experiences all themed around sharks and shipwrecks.
Shark Wreck Reef will allow guests to learn more about humans impact on sharks and how this impacts on the environment. The area will feature a unique sound system that will help enhance the guests experience.
Mako will thrill riders and has been designed for speed. It features tight turns, steep drops, and fast speeds. Climbing up to 200 feet and plunging down at speeds of up to 73 mph it is a roller coaster that I just have to experience and I can’t wait until next year when we will once again be visiting Orlando.
Mako surfaces at SeaWorld on 10th June. Follow the Mako frenzy using the hashtag #NothingFaster.
