When January rolls around it symbolises the start of a whole new year of fun and adventures and to help us to get the most out of our year we take advantage of the Merlin Annual Pass January sale.
We have been on many fun adventures with our Merlin Annual Passes over the past year, We visited the Alton Towers hotel in search of Moshlings, experienced the Shark Hotel at Thorpe park and explored Madame tussauds in both Blackpool and London. We spent many hours exploring our local Manchester attractions and went to every single Merlin attraction in Blackpool.
The Christmas we took advantage of the Merlin Annual Pass discount to visit Legoland Windsors Christmas Event. I went last year with Alison and really enjoyed it so it was great to be able to go together as a family this year.
Not only is Legoland Windsor turned into an amazing winter wonderland with trees sprayed with snow and Christmas lights twinkling but there is also a restricted amount of visitors so we didn’t have to queue for a single ride. Not all the rides were open but there was enough to keep us all happy whilst we were there including rollercoasters, pirate ships and the awful spinning spider ride that makes me want to be sick but that the kids absolutely love.
The girls visited with Santa in his little cabin which they absolutely loved and he was very attentive ensuring that they had been good (and that we had too) and asking what they would be leaving out for him that night. They were each then handed a canvas bag with a present inside. A Lego set worth £10.
After our visit with Santa we went into the elf workshop to decorate biscuits, create Christmas cards and make Christmas models out of Lego. This was a fabulous place for a bit of downtime and placed strategically opposite one of the venues where grown ups were able to get a free hot drink, very clever.
We absolutely loved visiting Legoland Windsor and I can’t wait for another full year of adventures with out Merlin Annual Passes. I really do recommend you get them whilst they are on sale as they save us a lot of money during the year and make even the wettest day in Manchester a happy one. After all with 31 attractions to explore and 12 months to do it you will be voting for fun too.
