With just two weeks to go before the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 film it is time to start getting excited. We were sent three of the new Lego Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 sets to build and enjoy to help us to get in the mood for the film release.
The first and smallest set that we were sent is set number 76079 Ravager Attack.
All of the Lego Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 sets come with a little comic which Alison really enjoyed. This set came with three mini figures including my favourite character Rocket the Raccoon. The other two characters are Taserface and Mantis.
The set includes a vehicle and a tree type structure which has a fantastic weapon attached. Both of these structures have working weapons and give the set a great play factor.
The second set we built was Ayesha’s Revenge, set number 76080.
This set introduced us to baby groot as well as providing us with three other mini figures: Yondi, Ayesha and of course Star-Lord.
This set features two fabulous vehicles and a piece of scenery that I am sure will make complete sense once we have watched the film.
All of the pieces in this set have great play ability with opening sections, hidden compartments, shooting guns, flip up pieces and even a bit that ejects the passenger! This is the set that the girls have played with the most and they have really enjoyed it.
The third, final and largest set is set number 76081 – The Milano Vs The Abilisk.
The set also features a baby Groot and a Star-lord although this star lord has his mask on so there are some differences. The other figures in this set are Nebula, Gamora and Drax.
The Milano jet is the biggest vehicle out of all of these sets and it has lots of lovely bits to move and play with. They really are making these sets have more features rather than just awesome looking models and this is one of the sets where this is most evident.
One of my favourite parts of this set has to be the Abilisk. This creature has been created in such a way that it moves really well and the mini figures can be placed on the ends of its tentacles. We all loved seeing the difference figures get eaten by this monstrous creature and it really has made us want to watch the film even more to see what the outcome of this battle will be.
All in all these Lego Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 sets definitely lived up to expectations and have given us just enough of an insight into the film to really wet our appetites and have us on countdown to when we can see it.
Plus who can resist a baby Groot!
Great review and bring on the movie. Can’t wait.
We’re so excited for the new film and the new LEGO sets are a great way to build (like what I did there) up the excitement.
