I get really excited about Lego, some people will think that is sad and those like me will completely agree that when Lego brings out new sets it is totally awesome. This is why as Lego Family Bloggers for the second year in the row I was very happy to have received some of the fabulous new ranges already this year.
Starting with the awesome Lego Movie sets we were sent Cloud Cuckoo Palace which was a brilliant set for the girls to play together as it came with3 minifigures Emmet, Wyldstyle and Executron, and 2 figures: Unikitty and a snail.
The set is lovely and bright and fits so well with the film. I love the fact that it comes with a flower canon that allows you to shoot flower at Executron. Cloud Cuckoo Palace comes with a bright-yellow sun, fresh flowers and multi-colored twirling discs

Lego Mixels are a fun new pocket money range. All of the mixels can be swapped around and blended together to make a range of characters. LEGO® Mixels are funny, creative creatures made up of the basic building blocks of LEGO matter: Fire, Rock, Electricity and more. The Mixels live in tribes spread across a vast world and love to mix and combine. By using the special cubits they will be able to mix into new characters with hilarious and surprising results. NIXELS are swarming, colorless creatures of deconstruction. Nixels tear apart everything in their path – including the mixed up Mixels. This range of fun looking creatures are going to be a huge hit.
I saw the new Lego Juniors range at the Toy Fair in January and it was one of the things that I got excited about the most.
Alison has outgrown Duplo yet she is unable to build Lego by herself. The Lego Juniors range helps fill this gap. It uses a variety of small and larger pieces and still has moving parts and all of the excitement of the larger sets.
Alison was able to build most of these two sets by herself and only required help with a few fiddly moving parts such as attaching the scoop to the front of the digger.
The juniors range is extensive with construction, city, super heroes and princesses all in the range. This means that any 4 to 7 year olds should be able to find a product in this range that they will love and I look forward to seeing this range grow as it becomes more popular.
