This exciting new event will take place on Wednesday 22nd May and we would love you or your company to be part of it.
Why getting your wig on makes a difference
Every day, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience. The gruelling, often life-saving cancer treatment can last up to three years and frequently leads to children and young people losing their hair. CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading charity for young cancer patients and their families and we need your support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
Vicki Moore, CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager for the North West and North Wales says: “Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience for many reasons. One particularly upsetting aspect of the journey is hair loss and having to wear a wig. This initiative is designed for people to show that they care about the children and young people who go through this experience, while also fundraising to support them.
By encouraging your colleagues in your workplace to get a wig on for Wig Wednesday on 22nd May and simply collecting donations from everyone for taking part, your company can show its support and make a big difference to the lives of thousands of children and young people with cancer.
