Tips on how to easily theme a kids bedroom

When your child really loves something, whether it’s a TV show or film, they want to surround themselves with it and this includes their bedroom. Perhaps they already have something they already really want or maybe you just want to decorate. Either way here are some great ways to theme a kids bedroom.

Wallpaper and Murals

You can get great cheap themed wallpaper from loads of places and most of them will let you take a little bit of it home to show your kids. This is great if the idea of a trip to somewhere like B&Q with your kids is either not possible or a laughable idea. If you don’t want to go as far as wallpapering an entire room then murals are an excellent idea because they can depict some of your kids favourite characters from films like Frozen or Finding Dory in one big image. They look great and are really easy to put up.

Themed Beds

Car beds are really popular, but if your children share a room then a kids bunk beds might be a better idea. As it’s a shared bedroom finding wallpaper or murals that they agree on might be tough, but Bedstar have lots of kids bunk beds to choose from so you are bound to find something they both like. Then they can put stickers on their own part of the bunk bed and otherwise decorate it how they like. This is a great alternative to having to settle arguments about whether the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Spider-Man should be on the wall.

Posters

If you’re worried that your kids will quickly outgrow their latest favourite film then you might want to opt for getting a few posters instead. Posters are a cheap way of theming your kids bedroom and once they decide they don’t like something anymore it can be taken down and replaced with a new one. It is, however, worth pointing out that blu-tac might take some of the paint off your walls or leave a mark. Just something to be aware of.

Stenciling or Repainting

If you are an especially ambitious or artistic parent then you could consider buying some paint and stencils. If you child really like The Jungle Book repainting their room into a jungle could be a really lovely idea and great project for you as well. If you can get them involved in the painting as well that is sure to be loads of fun. This will last a long time and it will look amazing.
