Nintendo Post E3 event

Its not often in my blogging career that Hubby has been well and truly jealous about one of my press trips. Last week I headed down to London to spend the day with Nintendo to play on some of the games that are due out later this year. I was playing on the Wii U and the 3DS for nearly five hours working my way around some of their amazing games. Below are some of my favourites.

Wii Party U

This will be a huge hit when it comes out. As with all the party games it has lots of different games which are suitable for all ages. I love the ability to play some games solely on the Wii U game pad.

Sonic

I managed to play on Sonic lost world and Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Both games are fantastic but I especially liked sonic Lost World as it reminded me of the original sonic games but on a 3D world instead of a 2D platform game. The colours, actions and characters are all reminiscent of the old games.

Pikmin 3

Pikmin 3 is true to the previous Pikmin games but the gamepad allows better controls. If you love the old Pikmin games you will like this but if you think you have grown out of Pikmins why not check out the Wonderful 101 which to me looks like a grown ups version with superheroes. There are also some fabulous uses of the game pad built into the Wonderful 101 game.

Ducktales

True to the original cartoon the voices and illustrations are fantastic. It is like playing the cartoon with the characters being 2D. I can’t wait to have more of a chance to play this but it was very popular on the day and there was a lot to get around.

Mario

From Mario 3D world to Mario Kart 8 I spent most of my time in the Mario area. I have always been a fan of platform games like this and with the game pad making the motion control in Mario Kart 8 a lot more responsive I was thoroughly enjoying myself. I loved Mario 3D and turning Mario into a cat really added another dimension onto the game.

I had a fabulous time and I can’t wait to get my hands on the new games and review them in our games review section. There were so many games that I played that are not even mentioned above but I just can’t fit it all in.

I loved all the attention to detail that Nintendo had put into the room. Have a look at the photos below.
