How to host the best Star Wars party ever!

I love hosting birthday parties for the girls but as they get older I know that these parties will soon be replaced with trips to the cinema or bowling with friends so I decided that this year I would host parties that they should hopefully remember for years. As Alison turned 7 this weekend it was the perfect opportunity to host the best Star Wars party ever and my friends at StarKidz Entertainment came along to help make this a reality.

Decorating the room

When it comes to hosting a themed party I find that using the right decorations can make a huge difference. Now you can make decorations yourself but if you are as rubbish at crafts as I am, then don’t worry because Party Delights have a huge selection that you can choose from. To help me host Alison’s Star Wars Force Awakens Party they sent me a variety of decorations including some Amscan Character balloons, banners, cardboard cutouts, tablecloths and even table wear.

The Entertainment

When it comes to entertainment you have lots of options but I love a hands off approach so I can enjoy the party too. With this in mind I paid for Star Kidz entertainment to come along and help  to make the party awesome. They offer a fabulous Star Wars Party option which includes performing a Jedi Oath, Jedi training and fighting against the dark side. They also host party dances and party games and even bring their own pass the parcel.

The Costumes

When it comes to themed parties the best way to get into the mood is to dress up and yes that includes the adults too. We were sent some Star Wars costumes from Rubies Costumes for the whole family. Alison was dressed as Finn, Elizabeth as Rey, hubby as a Flame Trooper and I welcomed guests whilst dressed like Captain Phasma. Joining in with the fun by dressing up really made the party special and all of the kids loved it. In fact there is some dreadful video footage on instagram, thanks to Jenny from The Brick Castle, of me doing a party dance as Captain Phasma but I will leave that up to you to find if you really want a laugh.

The finishing touches

So we have the decorations, the entertainment and the costumes but no party is complete without the finishing touches. We used Star Wars Party bags from Party delights and filled them with a selection of sweets and a Star Wars pencil and rubber that I picked up cheaply in my local quality save. The best bit of any party has to be the cake and BB8 cake we had made by New Adventures in Cake didn’t disappoint.

We had an amazing Star Wars party that will hopefully have provided some brilliant memories for years to come.
