Decluttering

I seem to be going through a phase where clutter is really beginning to annoy me. This is unusual. I am the one surrounded by clutter. I hate when my things get put away because I then don’t know what I have done and what I haven’t done. I recently bought my treasure chest to store my review items in and to keep them out of my way.

Hubby who was always a neat freak seems to be regressing. Since he gave up work I was expecting the house to be more organised not less so. I expected to never have any washing up on the side and to always have an empty washing basket.

Two weeks in and the house looks like he was still at work and to make matters worse he has added his own clutter into the rest of it

I have been sorting through the girls toys ready for christmas and I sent loads of them off to the charity shops and the hospital. We have gone through all the clothes that no longer fit and we have even sorted out all of the excess bedding. One thing we do have too much off is technology. We have so many consoles with a DS, two 3DS, a Wii, Wii U, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and two PS Vitas. We also have too many games, dvds and cds. Hubby seems loathed to get rid of them but then he will sit and only play one game at a time whilst the others gather dust in the cupboard.

He was one of the lucky few who managed to get their Amazon copy of GTA five through early and I know he will now play it until its completed. It will then sit in the cupboard unloved like all of the other games he owns. I am trying to convince him that we really don’t need a Wii and a Wii U so we should sell it so we could have some more pennies for our upcoming holidays. Whilst we are at it we could get rid of some of the games he has collecting dust and some of the dvds we have not watched in years. Not only will they get us some money but they will clear out some much needed space as well.

I wonder what I can say or do to make him agree with me?
