As a family we are huge fans of Wagamama, we all have our favourites from the menu and because the food is cooked fresh it always tastes delicious. A few weeks ago Wagamama launched their new summer menu and we headed to the Printworks restaurant to check it out. We love the Printworks Wagamama as it has recently been refurbished to include some booth seats as well as the long benches. The Printworks restaurant was the first Wagamama to be opened outside of London and is underground giving it a lovely secluded feel even though you are in the city centre.
Choosing what to eat at Wagamama is always a challenge for me as I love so many of their dishes including the katsu curry, firecracker prawns and the chilli chicken ramen. However with the new summer additions this choice because even harder.
The girls both opted for the child’s size Chicken Ramen although Elizabeth decided to have the rich broth whilst Alison had the light broth on hers. The ability to change the broth in your ramen is new and all ramens can now be served with either a light, rich or spicy broth which can make your ramen to your tastes.
I decided to sample the shredded duck in tamari sauce served on lettuce leaves which was a delicious healthier alternative to the shredded duck wraps. I also tried the ‘Positive’ juice which is made from pineapple, spinach, cucumber, apple and lime . Wagamama has added two more juices to the menu ‘Repair’ (apple, kale and pear) and ‘Power’(spinach, apple and ginger) but they didn’t appeal to me.
For the main course, I opted for the Tamari Chicken. This chicken dish is packed full of vegetables in a lightish sauce served with rice and zasai chilli paste. I did hope that it might be spicy but unfortunately not so I added a fresh chopped chilli, chilli oil and some of that delicious chilli salt stuff that is on the table to make it extra delicious.
Adam opted for the sirloin steak chilli ramen. Neither of us had tried a steak ramen before but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat inside this flavoursome dish.
We enjoyed all of the new dishes that we tried and will have to schedule in another visit so we can try some of the other ones too.
