Last year we went on our very first cruise as a family onboard the Carnival Vista. I was beyond excited as going on a cruise was something that I had been wanting to do for a very long time. In fact, it was one of my life goals and we loved it so much that we will be cruising with Carnival again in July when we go to America. When I received an email regarding the new Carnival Horizon ship I was extremely excited, I was so excited that I actually booked to go on the very first sailing on 2nd April 2018 where we will spend 13 days cruising around the Mediterranean. I have never booked a holiday so far in advance but it seemed like too good an opportunity to miss when it happened to fall in our Easter holiday period.
Sometimes when we write about our adventures I worry that people will think that not paying for it will impact my opinion but we honestly loved our time on the Carnival Vista. Those 8 days were packed full of amazing adventures and waking up in a different port with new things to see and knowing the kids had lots to keep them occupied meant that we truly had the most amazing holiday.
The Carnival Horizon will have many of the same features as the Carnival Vista although there are promises that the Carnival Horizon will host a variety of unique dining and bar concepts and spectacular outdoor spaces that have not been seen before on a Carnival ship.
The Carnival Horizon is due to spend April in the Mediterranean with the 13-day maiden voyage that we will be on followed by two seven-day cruises and a ten-day cruise all departing from Barcelona. It will then make a transatlantic crossing and spend its time making Caribbean voyages.
We may not officially be the Carnival Cruises FunSeeker family for 2017 or 2018 but that isn’t going to stop us having fun on the Carnival ships over the next few years.
