What we got up to at Butlins over New Year

Visiting Butlins over New Year has been something that we had considered for a few years. With the girls now old enough to stay up and with us not visiting for a festive break we decided to book. We didn’t really know what to expect so I thought I would write a post to share with you what made this break stand out.

We arrived at the Bognor Regis resort on 30th December and settled into our New Style Apartment in Oyster Bay. The new style apartments are converted from the old standard rooms and they have had walls knocked down, new decoration and some new furniture.

The entertainment on this break was pretty much the same as other breaks during the day but on New Year’s Eve the Skyline Pavilion went through a transformation. Around 4 pm they set out lots of nice long tables around the Skyline stage with tablecloths and Christmas crackers. These tables were perfect for families to sit around and enjoy the music and entertainment on the stage.

We spent New Year’s Eve in the pavilion and found the entertainment on the Skyline Stage to be perfect for our family. We watched the Skyline Gang in one of their shows before seeing a Gary Barlow tribute and a live band. We had a redcoat DJ keeping us all dancing in between acts and the floor was full of Red Coats out to make sure we all had a good time.

As midnight struck we had all the Red Coats on stage and balloons fell from the ceiling as kids and parents danced, kissed and pulled party poppers all around us. The atmosphere was amazing and as we walked the girls back to our apartment at around 12:15 am, they both asked if we could book to come to Butlins over New Year again.

The fun didn’t stop there though. New Years Day saw the Butlins fireworks shooting into the air and we didn’t head home until the 2nd January. We love spending time at Butlins and enjoy all of the entertainment on the resort but the added extras that come with the New Year Break make it the ideal place to spend this time of year with family. We loved it so much that before we left we headed to the holiday booking shop to book again for next New Year.
