10 October Half Term Holiday Destinations that Tick the Family Box

Tenerife
Family favourite Tenerife doesn’t disappoint in October when ‘the island of eternal spring’ is a cosy 27˚C. If you stay in Costa Adeje you can choose between a peaceful days on the beach, taking a trip to lively, neighbouring Las Americas or visiting Siam Park or Loro Parque, both of which the kids will love.

Italy
The Italians welcome children into their restaurants and there aren’t many kids who could resist a Tuscan pizza or pasta dish. But aside from the food, this beautiful region of Italy is mild in autumn and will blow you away with its mountainous landscape that’s dotted with vineyards.

Bulgaria
Still quite new to the tourist scene, Bulgaria offers a wallet-friendly holidays – it doesn’t use the euro so eating out and day trips are very reasonable. The Balkan Mountains provide a stunning backdrop for the golden sands and gently sloping shores of Bulgaria’s Black Coast.

Egypt
The temperature in scorching Sharm El Sheikh still averages 30˚C in late October and resorts such as Nabq Bay have a gentle pace ideal for families. You can explore the National Park of Nabq, take safari tours or go horseback riding and snorkelling, but the crystal clear waters mean you can spot creatures without getting wet.

You can fly to Malaga in less than three hours and the family-friendly resort of Benalmadena is just 20 minutes by taxi when you arrive. Cape Verde
The Cape Verde Isles are the lesser known southern cousins of the Canaries and October is the perfect time to see turtles off its turquoise coastline. The flight time of 5 ½ hours is slightly longer than a European destination but these castaway islands make for a beautifully quiet family retreat.
