So unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past year, families everywhere should be aware of ‘The LEGO Movie’. As a family we fully embraced everything about this film from the moment it was first released. Starting with going to the cinema, buying the soundtrack CD just for the song ‘Everything is Awesome’, playing the video game and even collecting the plastic cups that were available with McDonald’s Happy Meals. So we were really happy when Suppose.com sent us the DVD to review. To put it simply we loved ‘The LEGO Movie’ and I for one can’t wait to see the sequel, which we hear is due for release in 2017.
Just to recap, the film is based on Lego toys, which tells the story of an ordinary construction worker named ‘Emmet’. One day Emmet is told that he has been prophesied to save the Lego universe from the tyrannical ‘Lord Business’. With the help of various characters that he meets along his journey (Wildstyle, Vitruvius, Batman, Unikitty and Benny), this unlikely group set out to stop Lord Business from using the ‘Kragle’ against the innocent people of Bricksburg.
If you haven’t already bought the film on DVD or Blu-ray (what’s wrong with you!), then be sure to look at purchasing a copy for your little ones this Christmas. It would make the most awesome stocking gift!
