Another fabulous new toy from IMC is Martina The Little Turtle which is part of the Club Petz collection. Martina The Little Turtle takes 3 AA batteries and a on-off-try me switch on the bottom. Martina comes with batteries included which is always appreciated.
Martina The Little Turtle is a feature pluh thatwalks and emits sounds. If you call her softly she will walk forward making a happy, giggling sound however if you are too loud then she will become startled and frightened. She will still walk forward but she makes a whimpering type of sound as she does so.
Martina has two different settings. A manual mode and a sound mode.
To place Martina in manual mode you need to press the button on her back, she will then emit a brief sound. If you keep pressing for a few seconds she will begin to walk, making cheerful noises as though she is singing. She will stop after 30 seconds or you can stop her by pressing the button on her back again.
To place Martina in sound mode you need to press the button on her back and say her name fairly quietly or clap or make another noise so that she starts walking while making cheerful sounds. If you are too loud then she will walk in a frightened way making a different sound until she calms down and stops. Whilst Martina is moving she will not respond to any sounds and you will have to wait until she stops by herself or by pressing the button on her back.
If Martina does not detect any sound for 30 seconds she will enter an energy saving mode. To activate her again you will need to press the button on her back.
Martina The Little Turtle is a soft plush with hard bits in her body and legs. The fabric she is made from really soft and she is suitable for 18 months and above.
The girls loved Martina The Little Turtle and I can imagine that lots of children will really enjoy playing with her although I do wish she came with a volume switch.
