Now those freaky looking Elf on the Shelf dolls really creep me out at Christmas but we all need something to keep the kids in line and on their best behaviour. This is where the My Fairy Door comes in, with a fairy staying in the house the kids have got to be good, after all fairies have very good hearing and will be reporting all bad behaviour to Santa.

I love a good centrepiece for my table but I don’t want it so cluttered I cant put all the food on so these Pinecone Tealights from Boots.com will cast a beautiful warm glow and look fantastically festive at the same time.

Now lets face no matter how great your decorations look it can always be spoilt by awful looking Christmas cards cluttering up the space, rather than offend people and not display the cards give out yours first and hope they see that you have set the standard. These fabulous cards from Hallmark all look amazing and I particularly love the pop up house and the sparkle one which will both give an added festive touch to the mantlepiece.

The Christmassy feeling doesn’t just come from the decorations but from the warmth of the house and the smell. This Florence Anne Fragrance Grapefruit & Lime Scented Candle from Boots.com gives off a lovely fresh scent that isnt full of cinnamon. I love spiced apple smells but Hubby hates them so I think this adds a citrus smell to the air which is fresh and the glass container is handy and reusable.

In July I went to lots of different Christmas events but the one that inspired me for my home the most was the House of Fraser event. Surrounded by gorgeously decorated trees, understated room decorations and gorgeous smelling candles the whole place got me into the spirit of Christmas. In fact I loved their Christmas trees so much that I just ordered one to replace our white one we have used the last few years. I am going to go tree decoration shopping this weekend with the kids and I hope to encourage them to stick to the Scandinavian theme I have in my head, however I will have to wait and see and will show you the results soon. In the mean time here are my top picks from House of Fraser Christmas Decorations to make your home perfect this festive season.
