Christmas in Manchester is always fairly fabulous, the Christmas Markets take over every spare space within the city centre but this year Spinningfields is the place to be.
Stories with Santa is a novel approach to the traditional visit to see Santa and for my two who never talk to him it seemed like a brilliant idea.

At £5 per child which includes a Story read by Santa himself and a selection box it certainly isn’t the most expensive Santa available in Manchester. As you can see from the picture Santa entered in a really novel way and the attention to detail in his grotto was brilliant. The elves even had everyone singing before Santa came.
After having a Story with Santa the girls were very excited about the next activity of the day. We were going Ice Skating as a family for the first time.
At £24 per family plus £5 for the hire of a penguin (we hired two) it is not the cheapest activity that you could do but it is certainly a Christmassy one and the smile on Elizabeth’s face as we skated around the ice singing Christmas Carols was worth a lot more. We also bought 3 photo magnets which were £4 each and a brilliant memento from the day.
We were lucky enough to receive tickets to see Santa and to go ice skating for free. I paid for the photos and the penguins to enhance our experience. All thoughts and smiles are genuine.
