Last week we headed along to Barton Square at the INTU Trafford Centre to visit The Polar Expedition. We have visited the Trafford Centre grotto for the last few years and have really enjoyed the fact that they put so much effort into the whole experience. This year we were transported to the north pole as we embarked on a magical polar expedition.
Now obviously I don’t want to completely ruin the surprise so I will keep some details to myself so that you get to experience the magic when you go but I will walk you through the journey so you can see what you are getting for your money.
After being checked in my by friendly Eskimo elves you are taken to the Reindeer stables where you need to work together with a very special friend to activate the magic which will allow you to start your journey to see Santa.
Whilst on your journey you will get to meet quite a few animatronic animals which are really cute. The more you look at these displays the more you see so do look closely to see how many animals you can spot.
My favourite part of the whole Polar Expedition was when we were introduced to some of the animals who live in the north pole. This fantastic room transports you to an iceberg where you get to see some of the animals and even interact with them. The kids thought this bit was brilliant!
The final part of the journey takes you through a wintery forest whilst you wait for your Eskimo Elf Guide who will accompany you on our way to meet Santa.
Your visit with Santa will allow your children time to talk about what gift they would like to receive and whether they have been good. We also discussed what we would be leaving out for Santa and his reindeer on Christmas Eve. Our Eskimo Elf Guide took a picture for us which was able to be purchased in a variety of different forms. Both of my girls received a joke book which they enjoyed and it was nice not to be given something that wasn’t a toy.
The Polar Expedition is open at Barton Square in the INTU Trafford Centre until Christmas Eve and is already booking up fast for the popular days so make sure you check it out soon.
