Moments that mattered in 2013

I was reading the lovely Emma and Three blog the other day and saw her competition post to win an ipad mini. I would never spend the money on one but win one, well why not. To enter the competition I had to write a post about Moments that Mattered in 2013 so TaDaa! Here it is.

So what moments really mattered for us in 2013? The moment that Elizabeth returned to school after her diagnosis with Leukaemia? The moment she had her nose tube out? The moment she had her hickman line removed? The one year anniversary of her diagnosis? These moments were all momentous occasions and yes they did matter but some moments mattered to us more than those. They were the moments when we didn’t let cancer get in the way.
The first trip to a park together since Elizabeth’s treatment was a moment that mattered, especially to Alison.
Cooking with Katy Ashworth on her birthday was a moment that mattered to Elizabeth
Elizabeth’s birthday party was a moment that mattered to us as a family.
Dancing together at playstation headquarters with a moment that mattered to both of the girls.
Picking blackberries in the rain was a family moment that mattered
Having fun together was a moment that mattered
Attending the Moshi Monster 5th Birthday Party at Moshi HQ was a moment that mattered to Elizabeth.
Meeting Mr Bloom and his baby veggies was a moment that mattered
Fulfilling a wish and hand feeding giraffes was a moment that mattered
Meeting Mickey Mouse and visiting Disneyland Paris was a moment that mattered
Watching Sooty and meeting Richard was a moment that mattered
Learning circus skills with the skyline gang was a moment that mattered
The moment that mattered most to me was our week away in Kos. A week of not being on treatment, a week away from illness and a week of fun.

I look forward to making more moments that matter in 2014.
