Getting ready for Camp Bestival with Millets #WeDoSummer

In just one weeks time we will be packing up the car and heading to Camp Bestival. Last year we absolutely loved it and it was definitely one of the highlights of 2015. We are really looking forward to spending the weekend together as a family under the stars and this time round we will even be cooking at our tent which is something we didn’t do last year. To help get us ready for Camp Bestival, we are working with Millets on their “We Do Summer” campaign and they sent us a few bits to ensure that we have everything we need for camping out.

The first thing we received was the Millets We Do Summer survival box which had a variety of items  including a selection of different wet wipes, muc-off dry shower foam, clif bars and steripods to keep our toothbrushes clean. It also had a handy checklist in the lid which means I can double check we have everything we need really easily.

As well as the hamper Millets sent us a variety of Vango camping cooking equipment to get us started. Apart from a picnic set and a gas bbq at home we have never cooked outdoors so this will be a real experience. However, I am looking forward to being able to have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. We were sent the Vango Aluminium Camping cook set, the Vango camping gas stove and the Vango family cutlery set.

As well as needing the cooking equipment we obviously need to pack our tent and sleeping bags so I have pulled them all out of the loft. Last year I had trouble sleeping without a pillow so I asked Millets to send me a Vango Self Inflating Pillow which is really soft so hopefully, that will solve my problem this year.

The other items that I feel are essential for a family festival (apart from the obvious food, wet wipes etc) are some battery operated lanterns, kids bubble guns with refillable bubble mixture (will save you a fortune I promise), battery operated walkie talkies (phone signal is always rubbish) and a decent backpack to carry all of the bits you need to have with you. Millets sent us this Berghaus Daysack which Hubby has claimed for himself, which is fine because it means he will have to carry everything!

I think that with the Millets packing list and everything we have here we should be all set. Now just to charge up all of the devices, buy some spare batteries and work out what food to pack and we should be ready to go!
