For preschoolers, Christmas is all about the presents and the fun so practical presents would not be appreciated by this age group.

The LeapFrog LeapStart Preschool Interactive Learning System is a great gift for inquisitive kids who want to have fun whilst learning. The LeapStart interactive learning system uses reusable activity books to teach children a variety of basics to get them ready for school. Using the stylus, kids can tap any page to activate noises and activities.

Melody the musical turtle is a great fun activity turtle for young kids to improve number and colour recognition whilst also improving their memory skills.

Brightlings have a light up face that changes colour and expression and have three different modes which include singing, repeating what you say and chatting. With a soft rag doll type body, she is easy to carry around and holding her upside down, lying her down or tilting her from side to side will change the noises she makes.

Jakks Pacific Star Wars Big Figs are ideal for little padawans. Easy to play with weapons included you can collect a variety of Star Wars characters to play out any scene that your little ones can imagine. These are great if you have older children as well as they can play together this these.

As huge fans of Sooty, we were really interested in the Sooty Mischief and Magic Set. Sooty dressed as a magician comes with a scarf trick and a whoopie cushion as well as a booklet that includes 6 tricks. The Sooty puppet has a very well padded head and looks amazing. We would definitely recommend this as a gift to any Sooty fan.

I saw this Story Tales plush toys set from Wilko at the Christmas in July event I went to and I just knew I had to share it with you all. This is a great start to a story sack which is something my girls loved when they were younger. Add in a copy of the book and you have a wonderful gift where they can play along with the characters whilst listening to the book.

Peppa Pig is still a huge draw for young kids and Peppa’s Alphaphonics Campervan is a fantastic interactive campervan shaped toy that features a variety of activities such as music, letter recognition, phonics and so much more. There are 8 different activities for the kids to play and has a volume control for the adult’s sanity.

The Revell Junior Level 1 kits are a great introduction to model building and the Fire Engine kit suitable for ages 4 plus allow the kids to build something that they can then play with later. The kit is easy to assemble using the included tools but I still recommend that this is done with a grown up to help to keep the child interested. It could make a great little project to build together.
