Camp Bestival – Family Festival Packing Essentials

Just a few days to go and it is time to get packing so it is time I share some of my festival essentials. Obviously starting with the tent, sleeping bag and camp beds but I gathered you would already have them on your list.
Looking at the weather I will definitely need to pack wellies for the whole family and thanks to Helly Hansen we all have some new ones to wear. I just need to remember to pack the welly socks too!
Helly Hansen also provided us all with rain coats. Here is a picture of me and Alison is our coats. I will share more photos of our coats throughout the weekend although I kind of hope they won’t be needed. The great thing about all of the coats they sent is that they are great for summer as they are not very thick but they are perfect for keeping us dry.

If the weather brightens up we won’t want to carry the coats with us so I will stick these ponchos in my bag for the day instead and even if it stays dry they are great for putting on the ground and sitting on.
Packing the right toiletries can make camping go a lot easier and with the lack of washing facilities you need to plan accordingly. Obviously we want to feel clean no matter how many days we camp and with these toiletries from Boots we can stay clean and smelling fresh. We were sent Hot Weather Cooling spray, Dry Shower body wash, cucumber cleansing wipes and dry shampoo. I was also sent P20 once a day sun protection. I have never used P20 before but as we might end with a bit of sunshine I like the idea of not having to worry about the kids getting burnt because we have forgotten to top up their sun cream.
Food and drink at festivals can be quite expensive and although we are taking snacks with us we can’t carry enough drinks to last us the weekend which is where these Brita Fill & Go drinks bottles come in useful. Camp Bestival provide water refill stations throughout the festival and having the filters means I don’t have to worry about the quality of the water.
Being able to find your tent is really important and having a flag seems to be the way to go but I couldn’t find one anywhere until I heard about these decorate your own flag kits at Home Bargains which is perfect!
The cost of face paints, tattoos and things like that at festivals soon add up so I am packing my FabLab Style Lab set which has hair chalks, nail art and glitter tattoos which is perfect for a festival full of fun.
Another way to save money is to pack the bubble and take them with us. I still need to get some bubble guns because apparently, this is not enough bubbles for a weekend at a festival.
Now as well as all of this we will also be packing

  • Clothes
  • Pjs
  • Onesies
  • Lots of Socks
  • Blankets
  • toilet roll
  • wet wipes
  • hand sanitiser
  • additional power packs
  • cameras
  • picnic blanket
  • torches
  • hand fans
  • batteries
  • glow sticks
  • black bags
  • fancy dress outfits
  • bunting and fairy lights for the tent

Let me know if you think I have forgotten anything as I need to start packing tomorrow. It’s a good job we have an estate car and a roof box otherwise I doubt we would fit it all in!
