Animal Crossing – Harry Potter inspired island walkthrough

I am a huge fan of Animal Crossing New Horizons and I can’t wait to show you my Harry Potter inspired island. Now let me start this by saying that not all of the ideas or designs used on my island are my own. Although I made most of my own signs I did use readily available QR codes for some of them and for all of the Harry Potter-inspired outfits because custom designs are not my strong points. I also took inspiration from quite a few different YouTube videos. You can see the designs I made using my creator code MA-0114-5274-925.

However, that being said it is time for you to visit New Start a 5 star Harry Potter inspired island. When you first arrive on my island you are in London with the Museum, Privet Drive, Ministry of Magic, Platform 9 3/4 and the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron.

London

Privet Drive is a nice normal house with a swing seat in the garden. I made the Privet Drive sign design code MO-HJPK-QYJW-RXYL

I am not 100% satisfied with my Ministry of magic but I am also not sure what to change. Any ideas? You can see my Ministry sign here MO-0CN1C-6JVF-583B

Platform 9 and 3/4 includes a suitcase on a serving trolley, street lamps, a clock and some benches. The Hogwarts express is made using a brick oven, wooden wardrobe, 2 black stalls and some Mage hats on the stalls. I didn’t make the Platform 9 3/4 sign.

Diagon Alley

Not shown here is that my Diagon Alley is also home to Nooks Cranny (my Magical Menagerie shop), the Abel sisters (Madam Malkin’s Robes for all occasions), Owl Post Office, Daily Prophet, Ollivanders (work in progress) and Flourish and Blotts (Work in Progress).

Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes is my favourite shop and there are so many cool items in Animal Crossing that I think fit in really well. My Weasleys Shop design is MO-QJQ6-RBKC-WHLX.

Fortescue’s Ice Cream parlour is perfect for Animal Crossing!

I loved creating Gringotts with the gnomes as goblins and the monster as my fire breathing dragon. You can’t see my Gringotts sign in this picture but the code is MO-DFQ4-X7C9-MC42.

Knockturn alley is filled with spooky items such as skeletons, cursed jewellery, vanishing cupboards and creepy potion sets.

Hogwarts

Trying to create the whole of Hogwarts was always going to be a struggle and deciding what rooms and lessons to recreate was even harder.

I love the Great Hall but I still want to tweak a few things such as adding more simple panels to block the light coming through the far wall.

Dumbledore’s office is one of mt favourite rooms and I got a lot of inspiration from watching other walkthroughs. The use of the bird bath as a pensieve is pure genius.

The library is the first room that you enter when you come into my house. I am working on getting more fake art work for the walls from Redd.

Gryffindor Common Room

Ravenclaw Common Room

Slytherin common room (in the basement)

Hufflepuff common room

Moaning Myrtles bathroom with entrance to the chamber of secrets

Prefects bathroom, this is a work in progress and I cant wait to get Mermaid furniture from Pascal to make this better.

Lessons

I love Herbology and think it looks great.

Potions Class

Defence against the dark arts with Cornish Pixies in cages and a Boggart cupboard.

Care of Magical Creatures

Divination and Astrology

Transfiguration with McGonagall as a cat and Ron’s water jug mid transformation.

The grounds of Hogwarts

Within the grounds of Hogwarts there are lots of things to see including the Forbidden Forest (visable behind Care of Magical Creatures above) and the black lake (large pond not shown).

Hagrid’s hut

Quidditch pitch

Tri-Wizard maze with pitfalls, a Spinx and a Boggart cupboard. The maze leads to the Quidditch pitch and to the Tri-wizard cup.

Hogsmeade

Hosgmeade is still a work in progress and I am currently working on Zonkos and the shrieking shack (the fence for which you can see to the right hand side).

Honeydukes (MO-65G2-62WX-LQ3T) is full of sweet things including the Chocolate Frog design I made (MO-LGBD-7VTN-VYNQ).

The Three Broomsticks is a great place for Harry Potter to chill out and have some butterbeer. The sign not visible in this picture is MO-YK53-2QH9-YYPT

Other areas

At the end of the maze, just after finding the Triwizard cup you will find yourself in a spooky graveyard surrounded by death eaters.

I love Shell cottage and I am currently trying to convince the villager to use shell based furniture on the inside.

Poor Dobby, the shell speaker is playing some sad music so we can really mourn him.

Finally the Forest of Dean with Hermione’s tent. The heart shaped crystal from the wedding season makes a great Horcrux.

So there you have it my Harry Potter inspired Animal Crossing Island. It is still a work in progress but I am slowly getting there. If you have any suggestions do let me know as I am always looking for more ideas.
