On Thursday we headed over to Sky Studios in the O2 for some fun free family adventures. Having been to the O2 earlier this year I had walked past the Sky studios but I had no idea what it was until Netmums asked for us to go along and feedback on what i thought. The venue is located in the entrance hall to the O2 and is open every day (expect Christmas day) between 11am and 7pm.

The current experiences are called Summer of Sports and were created to celebrate the start of the Barclays Premier League season and other great sporting events. To do this Sky Studios has created an action-packed sports experience with free interactive challenges running every day until 28th September. Visitors can drive on Formula 1 race tracks in a simulator, take on the 17th hole at Gleneagles and try and score a goal on a replica of the Soccer AM Car Park Game. We even had a go at the Game Changers ‘Change Your Aim’ hoop challenge and tested our reaction speeds in the 60-second Sky Sports Batak challenge.

As you can see from the photos Alison had a fantastic time but so did we all. In fact we all joined in with the different challenges and it was just as much fun for grown ups as it was for kids.
The one part that was really good was the green screens. There was something for everyone from films, sports and childrens programs. You could even present the latest sporting or news headlines and watch or download a recording from the sky website.
Alison loved the green screen areas and really enjoyed having her picture taken with some of her favourite characters.

It wasn’t just Alison that had fun with the green screens as I have to admit to enjoying it a fair bit myself.

Even Elizabeth had a go although she did find there was less girly screens to choose from. Older kids had the option to choose scenes from programs from the Disney channel as well as films and sports.

There was another green screen experience where you got to have your photo taken and added to your favourite team, unfortunately Alison chose Manchester United.
Sky Studios is a fantastic family venue that is not only fabulous fun but it is also free and is definitely something that you should go and do whether before the summer of sports finishes or the next time you are in the area. I think it is a worthwhile visit and I look forward to seeing what they have on offer when I next go to the O2 at Christmas time.
