Dog Bowl Manchester

Picture

Dog Bowl in Manchester is one of my favourite venues when asked where to go for naughty but delicious food. With massive burgers filled with pulled pork and chips covered in peanut butter, cheese and gravy it is certainly not for those of us on a diet but when asked if I would like to go there for lunch with the family on our anniversary I couldn’t say no.

An anniversary is there so that we can be indulgent and we certainly did that. The girls had the fantastic three course meal with them both choosing cheesy nachos, tortilla pizza and ice cream.

When it came to our choices it took a lot longer for us to choose, we were offered a two course meal and the first hard choice was whether we wanted a starter and main course or a main course and pudding. We have never had pudding at Dog Bowl before so decided to be extra naughty and went for that instead.

Choosing a main course is a mission in itself and after much deliberating and after asking the waitress for her opinion we went for a DB burger and 5 piece fried chicken meal. We also added an extra portion of onion rings and some rock & roll fries to share.

The D.B’s £15
230g beef patty, pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked bacon, onion rings & BBQ sauce

Fried Chicken
Served with double thick cut bread, creamed potatoes & gravy
3pc   £9
5pc   £12.50

Rock & Roll Fries £6.50
Double portion of mixed fries, cheese, gravy, Blacksticks blue cheese sauce & Barking Mad hot sauce

The food was amazing and the best bit for me was the sauces. Each sauce is made on site even the bbq sauce and tomato sauce. I ordered the Barking mad sauce as a side to dip my chicken in and loved it. The fried chicken had a gorgeous coasting and was succulent inside and the burger was to die for with the pulled pork being my favourite part but everything else a close second. In fact just looking at the pictures and writing this review is making me drool.

The puddings came next and seen as I had already broken my diet for the day I decided to go all out and have The Bowl whilst Hubby went for Millionaires Row

The Bowl
3 scoops chocolate ripple, brownie chunks, marshmallow, chocolate sauce & whipped cream

Millionaires Row
2 scoops shortcake, 1 fudge, caramel sauce, whipped cream & chocolate shavings

Both sundaes were amazing and a great balance of brilliant quality cream and ice cream with sauce and additional topping. I actually preferred Hubbys ice cream as the flavours were amazing but the brownie chunks in mine were mouthwatering and the perfect size to shove in your mouth whole.

With a belly full of lunch we all had an energetic game of bowling to complete the day. We love bowling at Dog Bowl as they have the right sized shoes for the girls and is never too busy.
We went along to Dog Bowl to find out about their new Sunday Lunch menu and I can’t think of anywhere I would rather go. Now you can get all the veggie trimmings of a Roast dinner served with some amazing bits of meat at a great price.
