Despicable me 2 (I made minion cakes!)

Picture

This weekend we had a fabulous opportunity to spend some quality time together, the laptop was turned off on Friday evening and not switched back on until this morning.
Part of this great family weekend was the opportunity to sit down as home as a family and watch Despicable me 2 on dvd before its release today.

Hubby had yet to watch Despicable Me 2 after I took the kids to the cinema by myself so he was very eager to sit down and watch it. I have to say it is just as funny second time round and at least now Hubby understand mine and the girls references to “Bottom”.

It was great to see Gru settle down and marry a nice women and the minions getting up to no good with fart guns. I look forward to seeing if there will be a Despicable Me 3 coming out and wonder what trouble the family can get up to next.

To celebrate the release we were asked to take part in a minion bake off, we were given a recipe card (see below) and sent on our way to do our best.

Ok so I am not a baker and there was no way I was getting a paint brush just to make cakes but I think we did well. The plan was to make more Minions but unfortunately I got bored. I have never been one for crafts or baking. I made one for each child and that seemed to be enough. I also tried to make an evil minion but the hair just didnt work.

I am not sure which minions these are but the girls had one each and enjoyed munching on them whilst watching the film and I am quite proud of the fact that they actually almost look like minions. To me that is definitely a success!
