Back in July, I was at a Christmas press event when I was introduced to the Manhatten TV T3R 4K Smart recorder. Now as a family we have a lot of screen time but we don’t really watch any live tv. For the last 8 years since we moved into this house we have had a Sky package which incorporated TV, Broadband and a phone line.
As a family, we all watch things in different ways. Whilst working in the living room during the day I absorb box sets from start to finish before moving on to the next programme. My husband watches Youtube videos on his tablet and only ever sits in front of the TV for football or a movie and both of my girls live for on-demand TV, usually through Netflix. Yet we were still paying Sky an absolute fortune every month.
I have to admit that I always thought that Freeview wasn’t for us. However, after talking to the lovely people from Manhatten TV I thought I should give it a go. The Manhatten TV T3R 4K smart recorder is advertised as the ultimate subscription-free TV experience. I can record, pause and rewind 85 channels of Freeview TV as well as easily search BBC iPlayer, All4, ITV Hub, Youtube and more.
The menus are easy to navigate and the best bit is if you forget to record your favourite show you can even go back the last 7 days directly from the tv guide to watch things you have missed.
The Manhatten TV T3R 4K smart recorder helps you easily find popular shows in its featured section and has lots of clever abilities such as suggesting alternative broadcasts of programmes when your recordings clash, record an entire series with just two taps of a remote, you can even create your own personal watchlist where all of your on-demand choices in one place.
Switching to Manhatten TV T3R and moving our broadband to a cheaper supplier is now saving us over £50 a month which is crazy when I think about how much we have wasted over the years.
It isn’t a perfect solution and I would love to see the Manhatten TV T3R have the ability to connect to our Netflix and Amazon Prime Video accounts so that we had everything all in one place but for now we will keep using our firestick alongside our smart recorder and saving money.
