Its International Womens Day and everywhere I look people are talking about the women who were or are an inspiration to them. To be fair I can’t think of a single women I know who has not been inspiring in some way. From working through adversity, bringing kids up by themselves, working hard jobs or looking after sick kids. We have all had to over come something. No matter how small that obstacle may seem to others we know within ourselves just how hard it has been. The mum who hides all her worries and stress from her children, the women who is unhappy about how she looks yet leaves the house with a smile on her face or the one who has supported others through their worries when no one asks her if she needs support. Every day women we walk past in the street, they are inspiring but there is one women (well one female) who inspires me each and every day.
Inspirational women are all around us and in other countries. Three inspirational bloggers started Team Honk last year.
Team Honk is about bloggers raising money and awareness for Comic Relief. To celebrate International Women’s Day #iwd2014, Tanya, Annie and Penny are in Tanzania finding out how donations to Sport Relief last year have created female entrepreneurs and #lastingchange for women, their families and communities and beyond - rippling out #lastingchange in Africa.

- Eliafura makes the most beautiful batiks and tie dyed material. With the support of the Gatsby Trust Eliafura has registered her business and learned important health and safety rules around the chemicals she uses. Eliafura now also trains other women in the village who bring material to her and she shows them how to create these beautiful patterns. They sell easily to not only local schools where teachers like to buy them but also overseas. We bought her entire stock because we loved them all so much and are now working out how to sell them on so we can complete the circle of donation, funding, training, selling, donating.
