Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington – Family friendly luxury

We love staying in hotels together as a family and we have visited a fair number of hotels that prize themselves on being family friendly. However I have never before found a hotel that has all the luxury I crave as well as so many amazing added extras that make staying at The Royal Garden Hotel together as a family an absolute pleasure.

The room we stayed in had a large double bed as well as a fold out sofa bed for the children. There was lots of space in the room even with the sofa bed pulled out and we still had plenty of space with the four of us in there.

When we go away as a family the bathroom is very important and we were happy to see that we had a large bathroom that featured a deep bath and a shower cubicle featuring a rain shower which kept us all happy.

With a room fit for a family I knew we would have a comfortable stay but it was the small things that made our stay extra special. The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington prides itself on providing a luxury 5 star experience for the parents whilst providing everything the children need to ensure they enjoy their stay too.

On arrival all kids under 12 receive a welcome pack rucksack which contains a great variety of treats to delight them. My girls loved their drinks bottle and teddy the most and having the rucksacks and drink bottle made our two days in London a lot easier as we were able to carry snacks with us on our adventures.

For those times when you are in the hotel with nothing to do such as waiting for dinner time or just having some quiet time in the afternoon the hotel has a huge selection of games available at reception. We really enjoyed borrowing some in the afternoon for some chill out time.

They also have some fair weather items to borrow including footballs, skipping ropes and rugby balls which would be perfect to take on to neighbouring Kensington gardens where you will also find The Diana Memorial Gardens and a fabulous statue of Peter Pan.

When the rain had stopped we borrowed two of the fabulous Micro Scooters that are available at the reception desk to go on an adventure around Kensington Gardens which the girls really loved. It is literally just next door to the hotel so is a great place to visit and having the scooters made it even more fun.
As well as all these goodies designed especially for children you can also see the care and attention that went into creating a menu for even the fussiest eater and the girls loved sampling the food available.
The breakfast buffet had everything you could possibly need from fruit, cereal, pastries and cold meats. Add to that the optional upgrade to a hot buffet which included waffles, omelettes and everything else you can imagine. It really was a great way to start the day and we all managed to find something that we wanted.
We had the opportunity to eat in the restaurant for dinner one night and we loved the food which was a treat for our eyes as much as for our belly. The flavours were exquisite and we all thoroughly enjoyed
The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington really is the perfect Luxury family hotel and it is in a great location for exploring London. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those wishing to enjoy a night of luxury whilst also keeping the children happy and entertained.
