We love going out to dinner and going to the Theatre so being able to eat a pre-theatre dinner as a family at a decent restaurant last week was perfect.
We were invited to Pier Eight in The Lowry to enjoy a family dinner before we went to see Shrek The Musical. Pier Eight have a great menu for adults and they created a special Shrek menu for the kids.

The kids menu featured Shrek Ears (garlic bread) to start and then a choice of basic main courses such as sausage and mash or fish and chips followed by a Gingerbread or Muffin with Ice Cream. The food was all really nice but my girls would have appreciated something a bit more complex as they dont really eat meals like this normally however I think it would be perfect for less adventurous children.

The adult food was absolutely delicious, well cooked with balanced flavours. There was not a single part of the starter, main course or pudding that I would have changed apart from maybe having even more as it was all delicious but that would just be greedy.

Pier Eight was an amazing mix of gorgeous food for the adults combined with a family friendly atmosphere with a basic kids menu. The pre-theatre atmosphere was brilliant and it is definitely somewhere we would eat again rather than opting to eat in the Lowry Outlet mall like I have done previously. Although the kids did eat their food I would like to see some more grown up flavours on the kids menu but apart from that it was a fantastic experience and one I would definitely recommend.
