Disney on Ice presents Frozen – the review

Last week we headed to the opening night of Disney on Ice presents Frozen at the Manchester Arena. We have watched a lot of Disney on Ice shows but I have to say that this has to be one of my favourite ones yet.

As well as the standard introduction from Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy we also had a brief sequence from a variety of Disney characters including Princesses with their Princes, Dory, Nemo and his Dad, Buzz and Woody and Timone and Pumba. The theme was love and the different forms that this can take.

After this short sequence, it was time for the main part of the show to begin for the full retelling of the Frozen story. We even started with a young Kristoff and Sven with their ice.

Watching the story unfold from start to finish was fantastic and really kept all of the children’s attentions. From seeing a young Anna and Elsa build a snowman to watching as Elsa Let it Go, the whole audience was mesmerised and singing along to every single song.

There were huge cheers as Olaf appeared on the ice and his Summer song was an amazing feat of choreography that included lots of bees and butterflies buzzing around.

Seeing Marshmallow on the ice for the very first time was fantastic and although he only featured briefly he certainly was an impression.

Some characters that we were really looking forward to seeing on the ice was the rock trolls and they did not disappoint.  The whole troll sequence was fabulous and I loved the balls that rolled around the ice at the beginning.

My absolute favourite characters had to be Kristoff and Sven. Kristoff performed some amazing stunts and his whole friendship with Sven looked great on the ice.
