Christmas at Gullivers World Warrington

It has been a few years since we visited Gullivers World in Warrington but when I heard about their festive event I decided that we should go along and see what it was like. We have always enjoyed Gullivers World as it is never too busy and you can always get on the rides fairly quickly. It is also the closest theme park to where we live and there is a fabulous Splashzone and Nerf zone attached that you could add on to your day out.

Gullivers World Christmas event includes a festive train ride to meet Santa, Elf School and Mrs Christmas’s kitchen. There is also a whole host of Christmas shows to watch.

Dotted around Gullivers World is a variety of decorations to get you in the mood for Christmas. We loved ones like the below where we found out our reindeer names or elf names.

The Santa experience was a bit of a weird one. The train ride was a lovely touch but the bit we went through was part building site and part old dinosaur models with some old looking Christmas decorations thrown in for good measure. Then we arrived at this amazing, magical building where the walk-through was filled with decorations, animatronics and festive music. It was such a comparison from looking old and tired to being really up to date and brilliant. I really wish we had just walked to the building instead of having to take the train.

Our visit with Santa was really good and he was very attentive and spent quite a while talking to the girls asking them to remember the carrot for the reindeer and asking what they will be leaving for him to snack on.

What we loved most is that Santa didn’t give out a present, instead he said that the girls could go into the elf workshop down the corridor and choose one of the toys that have not been wrapped yet instead. This meant that the girls could choose exactly what they wanted which worked really well. There was so much for them to choose from and we were really impressed with the selection.

We were really impressed with the added extras that we available at Gullivers World for their Christmas event and I loved the fact that you could also book packages that suited your budget and allowed you to enjoy the day event more. A standard ticket for the festive event was £17.95 per person and that got you access to the rides and to enjoy the Christmas rides and attractions. A Spectacular ticket for the event costs just £9 more per person and includes Gully’s Christmas show, a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings, a seasonal dessert, cracker with hat, coffee or squash and a breakfast roll with hash brown on arrival. There are also a variety of other options in between but I think you get a lot for that extra £9 and the turkey dinner was really good.
