Over the February half term, we headed to Butlins Bognor Regis to take a look at some of the new entertainment for 2017. The schedule was jam-packed with new shows ranging from shows for preschoolers such as the Teletubbies and Mr Men to shows for all of the family such as the new Butlins Panto and the Sam and Mark Roadshow.
The Teletubbies show was on the stage in the Skyline Pavilion and lasted around 20 minutes which was ideal for all of the younger guests who were sat on the floor enjoying the show. Even after all these years the Teletubbies still manage to elicit screams of pure enjoyment from the little ones.
One of the things we love most about Butlins is the Skyline Gang and it was great to see a new show in the what’s on guide. Skyline Gang Carnival Craze sees the gang head to the carnival to see the human cannonball among other things.
This year the Butlins Panto is Whittington Rocks and we absolutely loved it. The tale of Dick Whittington and his cat is brought to life with lots of typical panto humour that makes it great for the whole family. Watch out though because some of the younger members of the audience found the king of rats to be quite scary.
We are huge Billy Bear fans so when we heard that Billy and Bonnie were putting on a special Wizard show we knew we had to go along to watch it. This show was really popular so make sure you get there early to get a good seat. Bonnie and her dog Rainbow get blown away in a storm and have to find the wizard (Billy Bear). You know the rest of the story!
The show that really took me by surprise was the Sam and Mark show. We don’t watch CBBC so I hadn’t come across them before but having now seen them on stage we will definitely be keeping an eye out for them in the future. The Sam and Mark show pitted audience members against each other in lots of hilarious mini-games and it was absolutely brilliant.
Now, these are not the only new entertainment shows that are coming to Butlins this year. Just for Tots breaks will see Justin Fletcher and Mister Maker make an appearance and the Easter holidays welcome Danger Mouse to the stage. The summer holidays welcome Stephen Mulhern, The Crazy Dunkers and comedian Paul Zerdin as well as the big top circus. The Butlins entertainment schedule is always full of fabulous shows that everyone will enjoy and 2017 is even better than usual.
