All aboard the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 and 3/4

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I squealed for delight when my invitation to visit platform 9 and 3/4 and the Hogwarts Express landed in my inbox.

I love going to Warner Bros Studio Tour the making of Harry Potter and no matter how many times I go I always see something new and notice details I had never noticed before.

However last Thursday I went along to see a completely new section that opens to the public on 19th March.

Walking on to the platform the first thing that hits you is the pure size of the set, the whole space is made to look and feel like a train station with high ceilings. There in the middle of the station was the fabulous Hogwarts Express.

You get to go onto the train and look into the various carriages that are set to represent each film. The details are fantastic but I wish there was more light on board so you could really see everything there was to see.

The train is quite tight for space and I can imagine that at busy times this may cause a problem but we didn’t have any issues whilst we were there. I would have liked to have spent longer on the train capturing all the details but time was running out and there was so much more to see.

As well as the Hogwarts Express the platform also features a gift shop that sells some of the sweets and other Hogwarts Express memorabilia. There are also lots of luggage trolleys dotted around and it was interesting to try to work out who they belonged to.
You have the chance to get a photo with one of three luggage trolleys disappearing into the wall and board a special interactive carriage where you can look out of the windows of the Hogwarts Express and see various views but I don’t want to give too much about that away as it is really something you have to experience for yourself.
There is also a set at the end of the Hogwarts Express which shows a carriage and the fabulous Honeydukes trolley loaded with Pumpkin juice, chocolate frogs and every other magical sweet you can imagine.
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour has always been amazing and it just keeps on getting better and better. I can’t wait to see what they will be doing next.
