Little Tikes Riga Swing Set from Asda

Earlier this year we got rid of the trampoline and dismantled the old swing set that was falling apart much to the kids dismay. I did promise them that we would eventually replace it but then we opted for a shed instead. A few weeks ago I was asked if we would like to test out the Little Tikes Riga Swing Set which is currently available from Asda for just £100! Well, one look at the solid wooden frame, two swing seats and the additional climbing ladder on the side and I knew that my girls would absolutely love it.

Our last swing set was metal and looked awful after one year in the elements so I was really impressed to read that the Little Tikes Rica Swing Set has a 10 year guarantee on the wood from rot and decay and a 5 year guarantee on the structural bolts and brackets which means this is a swing set built to last. The swing came in pieces which was a bit daunting  but was actually really easy to put together and in less than an hour we had a swing set to be proud off. Adam managed to build most of the swing set by himself, only requiring help when it came to standing it up and positioning it in the garden.

The A frame is a lot bigger than I expected but this gives the swing great stability. It measures 2.7 metres deep by 3 metres wide and is 2.25 metres high. The swing set is suitable for children aged 3 plus with a recommended maximum age of 8 but I think this is dependant on weight and how rough they would be on the equipment. Elizabeth is 8 but is fairly gentle when swinging and not too heavy so I think she will be ok for a while yet.

The Riga swing set is made from solid treated wood sourced from FSC forests and looks fantastic in its natural tones. It comes with two adjustable height swings and the climbing rope ladder which means that it is great if you have more than one child or if they have friends around a lot. The swing is put together using dark green powder coated metal parts which blend in with the dark wood and match the natural tones of the set.

I am amazed that this swing set only costs £100 and think that this is amazing value for money and my kids absolutely love it and have spent so much more time without their noses stuck to their ipads and outside in the garden playing together instead.
