#Win a £50 voucher for Ask Italian to try out their new kids menu #ServinguUpSmiles

We love eating out as a family and a good kids menu can make all the difference to our enjoyment of the experience. It doesnt matter how amazing my food is if my kids are pestering me because they don’t like theirs. With this in mind we were delighted to be invited along to Ask Italian to try the new Kids Menu. We were given a voucher towards the cost of our dinner and they have also given me a £50 voucher to give away to one of my readers so keep reading to find out more about how to enter.

The kids menu was lovely and simple with only a few options making it easy for the girls to decide what they wanted. There was one option for a starter, 5 choices for the main course and 4 choices for the pudding. You also had the option of a babyccino to finish which is always a nice touch.

The starter was lovely and simple with vegetable sticks, garlic bread and a dip that was reminiscent of mayonnaise and ketchup mixed together. It was a perfect size for the kids whilst they waited for their main course.

Elizabeth chose penne bolognese and Alison went for a Calzone. Now Alison had never had a calzone before but she saw the picture of the smiling face and wanted one of her own. She didn’t actually enjoy it as much as she would have done if she had just had a pizza but we will know this for next time. As a child who doesn’t eat the crusts the calzone just wasn’t for her. We were happy with the waiting staff as they took her order of adding olives to her calzone with no fuss even though it wasn’t listed as an option which was fantastic.

The pudding options both looked amazing when they came out and both girls even let me try a bit which was nice of them. I didnt actually order a pudding for myself as I am still on Slimming World (although not very successfully this week) so being able to have some of theirs kept my sweet tooth at bay. Elizabeth’s ice cream came with strawberries, marshmallows and a large hazelnut meringue which she wasn’t keen on but I loved. Alison’s Chocolate Pizza came topped with strawberries and had marshmallows on the side, it was a sweet pizza dough base that was deliciously crunchy and spread with a chocolate sauce.

All in all we were impressed with the choice and quality of the food and with a kids meal costing just £6.75 for a starter, main course, pudding and babyccino it is really good value too.
