We love visiting the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester and even more so when they host their special school holiday events. This February Half Term sees the return of Steam, Sweat and Sewers. Experience the smells, sounds and sights of Victorian life from February 13th to 21st where the fun fair, daily demonstrations and free family activities bring to life the vibrant, noisy and steam-powered days of 19th Century Manchester.

As well as the Victorian Fun Fair there are also all of these events happening around the museum too!

Revolution Manchester Show - Manchester built our world. With explosions, flying and even dancing, we’ll show you how. 
This interactive, fun show tells the story of how science and industry came together in Manchester to shape our lives today.

Manchester Mills - What’s a flying shuttle? Where’s the Devil-Hole? And who’s a scavenger? Go back in time to 
discover that built a city. This thunderous demonstration of historical mill machinery spins,  bobs and weaves raw cotton into finished cloth.

Cotton Mill Circus
- Roll up! Roll up! Calling all lion tamers, strongmen, magicians and elephants! Help the children of the mill transform their grim reality into the colourful world of the circus, in this interactive storytelling session

Victorian Steam Demonstration - How can the stuff that comes out of your kettle power a whole factory?  This entertaining, experiment led demonstration will show you how Victorian Manchester used steam to fuel the Industrial Revolution and shape the modern world.

Goo in the Loo! - If you want to learn just how filthy Victorian Manchester really was, then join us in this messy hands-on workshop. It will be slippery, slimy and absolutely sludgetastic!

Weaving Workshop - Learn more about the life of a Victorian weaver by making your own cardboard loom and creating your own colourful fabric in this drop-in workshop.

Victorian Photo Booth - Ever wondered what you would have looked like if you had been born in Victorian Manchester? Come along to our photo booth and find out. You can try on all manner of Victorian outfits and accessories, from bonnets to beards and everything in between.

Victorian Fairground - 
The fairground is coming to the Museum of Science and Industry this February. Experience  authentic Victorian rides and try your hand at traditional fairground games.

As you can see there are some fabulous activities to enjoy and to help you get the most out of your day I have teamed up with the Museum of Science and Industry Manchester to give you the chance to win two wristbands to giving two children aged between 5 and 12 the chance to unlimited rides on the Helter Skelter,Victorian Carousel, Swing Boats, Childrens Toy Set Ride and Rotating Swings.

Closing date is Sunday 7th February at 23:59 GMT. Winners will be contacted by a member of staff from the Museum of Science and Industry Manchester
Entrants must be 18 or over.
One winner will win 2 wristbands giving 2 kids aged 5-12 unlimited access to the Helter Skelter, Victorian Carousel, Swing Boats, Children’s Toy Set Ride and Rotating Swings.
The wristbands are valid for one day only which must be agreed in advane and can be used between 13 February – 21 February 2016.
Please note that the wristbands are not valid for the Hook a Duck, Candyfloss stall or the Roll a Penny game
The winner will be selected from random from all entries received.
Only one entry per person.
The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
The competition is not open to the Museum of Science and Industry or Science Museum Group (SMG) employees.
Any personal data submitted with consent will be kept by the Museum of Science and Industry for the purpose of sending out the prize.
