Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time

Picture

Sly Cooper is a game series that is exclusive to the PlayStation brand.  After releasing 3 Sly Cooper games for the PS2, Sony created this fourth installment for the PS3 and PS Vita.  Because of those strong ties to the PS2, playing Thieves in Time is like time travelling for modern day gamers.  It plays very similar to the previous games but with some new added features and better looking graphics.  I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, it made me feel all nostalgic.

The overall story is that Sly’s good friend Bentley realises that pages are starting to disappear from the Thievus Raccoonus (a book documenting the Copper family’s history).  The old gang of Sly, Bentley and Murray must reform to travel through time using the time machine created by Bentley, and repair the damage created by the game’s evil protagonist, Le Paradox.

Because time travel is a big part of the story players will be meeting Sly’s ancestors from different parts of the world, meaning that levels have their own unique design and feel.  You will be travelling to old Japan, the wild west, Medieval England and Ancient Arabia.

If you’re fortunate enough to own both a PS3 and PS Vita then there’s good new, purchasing the game for the PS3 provides you with a voucher code to download the PS Vita version for free.  So that’s 2 games for the price of 1!  There’s more good news though…you can transfer your games saves between both devices.  This is a very cool feature, something that gaming fanatics have been crying out for.  Say you’re away from your PS3 but you still want to continue your game, well now you can provided that you’ve uploaded your save data to the cloud.

The voice acting is superb and helps progress the story nicely.  The cut scenes are fantastic and look amazing on the PS Vita.  It’s a game that I would be happy to let any child play. An amazing platformer with a loveable character, for me it’s a must have game in my collection.
