We love playing games together as a family and depending on the age of your children will depend on the types of games that you will be playing. Spin Master sent me a selection of games to try out.
The first game we tested was the Pinkfong Baby Shark Let’s Go Hunt fishing game. This is a branded take on the classic fishing game where the fish open and close their mouths and you try to catch them. Playing the very catchy Baby Shark tune with no option to turn off the music this is definitely for the tolerant parent as the kids will love it. Aged 4 plus.
There are lots of versions of Hedbanz available and now you can even get a Hedbanz app which puts funny filters on people whilst you play. This is a hilarious family game for children aged 7 plus and one we have enjoyed in many guises over the years.
To support the new Jumanji The Next Level game this is unlike the traditional Jumanji board game. A strategy game where you need to really think about your next moves this game is not for the faint hearted or those who don’t concentrate. However if you are like us and love strategy games then this is a great family game. It says suitable for ages 8 plus but I might suggest 10 plus to be sure they grasp all of the concepts.
Otrio is a great game if you love brain teasers and problem solving. Put your wits against each other in a connect four type game with a lot more going on. What seems like a simple concept requires skill and concentration to trick your opponents and win the game. Suitable for ages 8 plus.
All of these games are great to play together as a family and they can also make brilliant home schooling substitutes with lots of problem solving going on.
