Looking after our families eyes with Specsavers

A few weeks ago we were invited to our local Specsavers store for the launch of the brand new JCB kids range of glasses. To celebrate the launch they had a fun day where members of the public could take photos with a real JCB, get their faces painted and get their families eyes tested.

We headed  down to check it out and as it was about time we all had our eyes tested again, we all took it in turns to visit the optometrist. The girls both really enjoyed having their eyes tested and were given the all clear but both my husband and I were informed that we needed new glasses. To be honest this wasn’t unexpected as we had both been putting off having our eyes tested for a while.

The girls were both very disappointed that they couldn’t choose some glasses of their own but they did enjoy trying them on. If kids need glasses they are given two pairs which would really come in handy considering kids have a habit of breaking stuff. As well as the fabulous JCB range of kids glasses, Specsavers also had a huge range of other licenses frames which my girls really enjoyed looking at. Alison loved the Minion and Star Wars frames and Elizabeth really liked the Disney range including the Frozen and Moana frames. They also have licenses that are suitable for younger children too such as the Gruffalo and Winnie the pooh.

As a thank you for going along Specsavers gave me a £150 voucher which enabled me to get myself some really nice purple glasses and a new pair of prescription sunglasses (Specsavers have a 2 for 1 offer on at the moment).

Next time we won’t put off getting our eye tests as it was really quick and simple and I would definitely recommend getting the kids eyes tested sooner rather than later.
