Star Wars The Last Jedi gift guide with giveaway!

Star Wars The Last Jedi is finally in cinemas and as I type this bleary-eyed after the midnight screening I am happy to say that it did not disappoint. As a huge Star Wars fan, there was always going to be the fear that The Last Jedi would fail to live up to its hype and that it would spoil the franchise. I feel that this was definitely not the case and although there were a few too many funny moments in it for me to be 100% happy I still find myself wanting to head back to the cinema today to watch it all over again.

As a complete geek, there is nothing I like more than finding an awesome piece of Star Wars merchandise under my Christmas tree and with so much choice available I thought I would pull together a variety of products suitable for various ages to help you with your last minute Christmas shopping. There is even a Star Wars Ladies prize draw at the end courtesy of our friends from Paladone so make sure you check that out.

Now there was one creature which had Star Wars fans divided. The previews of the Porgs in the Last Jedi trailers gained popularity with some people straight away with others wary of the little penguin/guinea pig creatures. I have to admit that I am a fan and the first item on my gift guide is this fabulous plush from Posh Paws. It is cute, fluffy and suitable for kids or grown-ups, in fact, he has been sitting on my desk for the last few months and I hadn’t even seen the film when I got him.

If you are looking for something for the kids to play with then these Big Figs from Jakks Pacific would be perfect. These large robust plastic figures look great on display but can also be used to act out various scenes. They are available in a range of characters and I have to say that after watching the Last Jedi, I loved the scene with the Praetorian guards and I can imagine Alison acting that one out a lot once she has watched it as well.

Mitre has released a range of Scribd Star Wars footballs which allow you to colour in the design on the ball. They have a few different designs to collect including BB-8, Yoda and Darth Vader as well as this Kylo Ren version. They are easy to colour in and the pen doesn’t rub off which makes them a fun and unusual craft activity for kids.

My girls love jigsaw puzzles and this 100 XXL Ravensburger puzzle is suitable for ages 6 plus. The puzzle features lots of characters from The Last Jedi film and is really detailed.

We love playing games as a family and Star Wars Eye Found It from Ravensburger is a perfect family game. With 13 planet boards featuring 1000 things to find, you will be able to keep playing again and again. Recommended for ages 6 plus this hidden picture game is more about being observant than any level of skill so could be suitable for younger children too.

Spearmark international have some great Star Wars lighting available such as the Illumi-mates that I have featured in my geeks gift guides. I love the colour changing fibre optic lamp which uses 3 AAA batteries and the 2.8-metre string lights which feature 15 lights, each showing well known Star Wars spaceships. Alison has both of these in her bedroom now and uses them as night lights.

When it comes to stationery there is a lot of choices available. I love this retro Star Wars Anniversary collection from Maped Helix which features an amazing Death Star pencil sharpener. To celebrate the 40th Anniversary this set has been recreated from some of the original 1977 Star Wars Helix range.

If you are looking for something with more of a modern design then Bic have a great selection available. I would say that this range is more for teenagers with the range of products suitable for secondary school. I love the shiny 4 in 1 stormtrooper ball pen and the R2D2 Tipp-ex.

If you are looking for something a little bit special then Sheaffer have the answer with these fantastic Star Wars pens. Available as roller balls or fountain pens these three designs are subtle yet fabulous. Unable to decide which one I like the best I am refusing to share these with anyone and I have added them to my own personal stationery stash. Retailing in John Lewis for just £16 (in different packaging) these would make a great gift.

If you are really looking to spoil someone this Christmas then you could check out the Star Wars Bluetooth speakers from AC Worldwide. Available as C-3PO, StormTrooper or Darth Vader, these almost life-sized speakers range from 28 to 36cm tall and each has their own character sounds on pairing.  Darth Vader even has light up eyes to add to the menacing look. These speakers look and sound great and if you are the ultimate fan and have two then they can be paired together to create actual stereo sound. Although a novelty in design the sound quality that emits from these speakers is really good with a solid bass and a brilliant maximum volume.

I love Star Wars clothing and own so many jumpers and t-shirts with a variety of designs on them but I fell in love with the idea of a Star Wars Buff, just check out this design! A buff is a multifunctional piece of headwear that can be worn in so many ways its crazy. It is perfect for this time of year when you dont know if you will need a hat, a scarf or both. Check out the Buff website to see the variety of ways you can wear one and then realise just how much you need one of these in your life.

Everyone needs new Pj’s at Christmas time and these stylish Somerbond Star Wars Male pyjamas are available from Next. The soft jersey cuffed pants are comfortable to wear and wash really well whilst the top is geeky yet understated. No more garish prints required as these look and feel great.

Everyone needs a new Christmas Jumper and what is better than a geeky jumper with lights and sounds. This Star Wars jumper from Tesco features light up eyes which work based on movement rather than pressing a button and add a real sinister feel to the Darth Vader face. It also features the imperial march song by pressing the button on his neck. My favourite touch has to be the back which features the phrase “The Dark Side Made Me Do It”.

I couldn’t put together a gift guide for something like Star Wars without recommending that you head along to the Paladone shop to check out their range of products. I have so many of these in my house now but they are always bringing out new and exciting items for me to add to my collection. To celebrate the release of The Last Jedi they have put together a selection of their Star Wars Ladies products and a few other treats for me to give away to one lucky reader.
