Did you know that this summer the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) are offering a free tennis lessons programme for kids? The #TennisForKids campaign will help to encourage children to pick up a racket and give tennis a go. |
The LTA have 1000 new tennis coaches across the country who will deliver the 6-week programme during May and June and make it even better each child who attends the courses gets a tennis racket to keep which will enable them to keep practising when the course finishes!
I used to enjoy tennis at school and as I lived down south at the time I even went to Wimbledon on a school trip but it is not a sport that my children have had much involvement in. When we were on holiday with Mark Warner last year they both did a small amount of tennis training as part of the kids club activities and they both said that they enjoyed it so as soon as I heard about these free lessons I knew I had to sign them up. Watch this video for more information about what the LTA is trying to achieve and for more information about the free tennis lessons check out this website. |
The great thing about tennis is that it is accessible for everyone. It doesnt cost much for a racket and some balls and even our local park has tennis courts that anyone can access to play on. I love the fact that the LTA are really making an effort to get young kids playing tennis and I cant wait to see my girls at their first lesson.
