Garden Makeover dream

Earlier this year I was working hard to make our garden an amazing place to play. In April I wrote a post about how my garden project was nearly finished but the problem is we never got any further. So I am entering a competition with Tots 100 and Activity Toys direct that will hopefully enable us to make it as perfect as I want it to be.

We already have a trampoline and swing set but the girls have always wanted a play house that doesn’t have lots of spiders in it which means it needs to be off the ground, I also need to replace the picnic bench which is falling apart.

I looks beautiful doesn’t it! I chose this one not only because of the price but because of the size of the decking and the fact that we can paint it and customise it how we would like. With only £150 left of the budget for Activity Toys Direct and with customisation (and a new picnic set) in mind I found the below accessories.

I then started to think about how to use the £250 garden vouchers. I checked where they were available to spend and found that homebase accept them which is really useful. My garden needs brightening up but I also want it to be a learning garden so I will use the £250 wisely. I want to give the girls a chance to grow vegetables and flowers so will use our pre dug flower bed for planting flowers and also give them terrace troughs for the playhouse balcony. I will use vegetable and potato bags to grow on our patio space as this is empty space at the moment and it will be good to put this to use. I would also grab some more wood paint and go over all of the fence panels in a warm brown colour to make it all look as good as new. These are some of my ideas below.

I need to paint the play house so I am looking at using some lovely bright shades of outdoor weather resistant wood paint.
