Frugal Finds

Its January and that can only mean one thing for me, SALES!

I love the January sales and I always spend the month buying birthday presents to see me through the year. I also buy my wrapping paper, Christmas cards and any new decorations that I might need.

I thought that whilst I am on the hunt for some bargains I may as well share my success with you.

Going down the birthday present route then first stop is always the Boots.com 50% off sale. I tend to order items for the Mother in Law (Gok Wan) and my sister (soap and glory) during this part of the sale online to ensure I get them and then wait for the 75% off sale (usually the third Wednesday of January) to go to the big store locally and pick up any other random bits that will do for aunties, uncles, school friends and raffle prizes.

This year I also managed to pick up some great Baylis and Harding sets from Superdrug down from £18.99 to just £4.99 and with free delivery, they look like great gift sets so I know that they will come in very useful throughout the year. BHS have some brilliant gift offers for the men in your life including beer and glass sets for £5 and a great bathrobe and toiletries set for £10. They were also selling some gorgeous wrapping paper for just 48p a 4m roll in our local BHS which is now safely stored away for the coming festive season.

When packing away our Christmas tree this year we had to throw out three sets of lights which after five years have finally given up and no amount of replacements bulbs were helping.
So in true January sale style I have been looking for some replacements and found a whole section of fantastic Christmas lights at Lights4fun including some gorgeous themed lights such as the jingle bell lights and these amazing felt reindeer lights.
I haven’t just been spending money on presents and decorations though. January always makes me want to declutter and reorganise. I feel the need to start the year fresh and with that in mind I visited our local charity furniture shop yesterday and bought two fabulous pieces of furniture. I also pined over this amazing writing bureau but we just don’t have the room for it and someone else obviously loved it as much as I did as it wasn’t there today when we went to pick up our purchases.
Have you found anything amazing in the January Sales? Are you an organised buyer or do you just pick things up as and when you need them?
