End of the holidays and back to school

I am not sure whether I am looking forward to the kids going back to school or dreading it. One thing is to be certain the mornings will be getting earlier and if my current grumpiness in the mornings is anything to go by I might have to think about going to bed at a reasonable time tonight.

We have had so much fun since the girls finished school for the Christmas break. We visited Winter Wonderland Manchester (twice!) to meet Sooty and Richard Cadell. We went to Butlins on holiday. We built dens in the forest. We watched Disney on Ice. We went to the cinema to watch Frozen and we spent a lot of time together as a family.

Tomorrow sees the end of the holidays and the start of us getting back to normal. The cupboards and fridge are stocked with packed lunch goodies and the meal plan board is coming out of hibernation. The alarm clock has been set and the kids are bathed and fast asleep in their beds. There is only one thing left for me to do. . . iron the uniform!
However I am going to continue to ignore the huge pile of ironing because I know if I leave it late enough then hubby will start doing it and I wont have to worry about it.

I know that the kids going back to school will have a huge impact on me over the next few weeks as things settle back to normal and I start to finish all my half done tasks. The things I have looked at many times over the past few weeks and thought to myself that they can wait.

I am going to miss the girls and I am already laying down plans for us to have some fabulous adventures during the February half term. For now my calendar looks pretty empty for the next few months apart from one particularly busy week (Toy Fair) so I will try to make the most of it and make sure our family time is quality time so I don’t miss them too much when they are at school. One thing that I want to do is to turn the laptop off after school until bedtime so if you see me online give me a kick up the bum!

Anyway its time for that early night so I will speak to you soon
