Dressing for Summer with JD Williams

When it come to clothes I am happiest in a pair of jeans and a geeky t shirt but as the weather starts to brighten up I need to come out of my comfy clothes and dress for the weather. I recently had the chance to choose some summer maxi dresses from JD Williams. Dresses are something that I don’t normally wear yet with a holiday to Florida and a cruise to the Bahamas on the horizon a couple of summer maxi dresses are just what I need.

The great thing about maxi dresses is that they can be worn for casual or smart occasions and they don’t take up much room in the suitcases which makes them perfect for packing to go on holiday.  I decided to choose three different dresses which mean that  I should have a dress to suit every occasion. I also took a look at some summer shoes that I can wear with multiple outfits.

On The Beach

This rose embroidered maxi dress cost just £29.00 and with matching blue sandals (£18.00) it makes a great day time dress which I can imagine wearing on the beach over the top of my swim suit or to walk around the shopping malls of Orlando. It is a light fabric that means it will be great in the heat of summer and the embroidery gives a nice detail that means you don’t need to wear jewellery to jazz up this otherwise plain dress. I do think I need to find a nice hat to go with the dress and to keep the summer sun of my head.

Eating Out

Eating out whilst on holiday requires something a little more dressed up that my beach choice so I opted for this floral Joe Browns dress. I love Joe Browns clothes as they are good quality, fantastic designs and they fit really well. This is the Los Cabos design which was £49.00 at JD Williams. I am wearing the same shoes as the day time dress as the colours worked well for this one too.

Dressing Up

Sometimes you need to go one step further and really make an effort. This Cobalt and black v neck maxi dress cost just £22 and is a cool light weight material that flows really well. I would wear this to visit the restaurants on the cruise where you need to dress up a bit. The black pattern works well with the slingback wedges that cost just £20.

These three fabulous dresses will be the staple of my summer wardrobe and I couldn’t help eyeing up some more holiday clothes on the JD Williams website which will no doubt find their way into my suitcase over the coming months.
