When I heard about the new Disney campaign to help promote healthy living I knew I had to get involved. We are huge Disney fans and after we took part in the Inside Out Change for Life 10 minute shake up campaign a few months ago we have been looking at our favourite characters in a whole new light and taking inspiration from them in some of the fun activities we do. This obviously ties in really well with the key message of the new Disney Campaign so we thought we would share with you some of the moments where we use Disney characters as inspiration to get active and to live healthily.
To help get us started we headed to the new Disney Healthily Ever After website for some ideas and also watched a Healthily Ever After video created by Disney for the campaign which shows just how inspiring some of their characters can be.
After watching that video with the girls we decided to have a look through our dvd collection for inspiration and I have to say I was shocked at just how many Disney dvds we own. We talked about how each film inspires us to live a healthier life, to play nicer together and to get outdoors and the girls answers were so much better than mine.
“Basil the great mouse detective makes me want to go on a treasure hunt and we can set clues for each other”
“I want to learn to be a warrior like Mulan, she never gives up”
“We should go on a bug hunt like Timone and Pumba”
“How about we use super speed like Bolt and run a race?”
“I wish we had loads of instruments so we could form a band like the Aristocats”
Talking about some of the movies we own certainly got their imaginations flowing and despite the cold and the rain we wrapped up warm and headed outside.
So whether your kids are inspired by dancing princesses, fluttering fairies or talking planes you can always find some way to inspire them to live Healthily Ever After with just a pinch of Disney Magic.
How will you inspire your children today? Check out #HealthilyEverAfter on social media for some more ideas and share yours too!
