On Friday we headed to Heaton Park in the north of Manchester where we had been told that McDonalds would be helping to make good times even better. The McDonalds HelloGoodTimes campaign is touring the country and as well as visiting restaurants and hosting family fun days (find your nearest one here) they will also be popping up in parks, on beaches, and at other locations without warning to help make good times even better.
Hidden in a dip in the 600 acre Heaton park we came across the Good Times Squad who had set up a variety of activities for people to enjoy.
The event in Manchester was held in collaboration with the Community Shield so there was an inflatable football pitch for the kids to play in, a goal to take penalties in and so much more. In fact, Alison got to play against Ex-Manchester United player Gary Pallister which was really good fun to watch. There are separate grassroots football events happening all around the country and you can find out more about the community football days here.
There were a couple of competitions to enter including the chance to be a player mascot and walk out onto the pitch at Wembley for the Manchester United vs Leicester City Community shield match and the chance to win tickets too.
As well as all the fun activities to take part in there was also the McFlurry van where we got to take some fun photos with inflatable props in exchange for a free McFlurry each! The McFlurry was definitely needed in the heat yesterday and was a welcome way to cool down after all of the football activities.
The whole day was fantastic and we got out and about in a beautiful park, caught some Pokemon, had a picnic and generally enjoyed the lovely summer weather. We really did have a Good Time and if you want the opportunity to enjoy one of the McDonald’s HelloGoodTimes events make sure you follow the hashtag on twitter to see if they are coming to a venue near you.
