This weekend was a bit of a turning point in my brain. I have been thinking to myself for months that I need to start eating healthier and lose some weight again but to be fair they have been passing thoughts. On Saturday I spent some time with my old Slimming World buddy where we both voiced our need to return and then this morning my Facebook memories showed me that 4 years ago I lost over 1 stone in 4 weeks.
So the decision has been made, tomorrow evening I am jumping back on the wagon and heading to my local Slimming World group. It has been a while since I went but I have lost over 3 stones in the past so I know I can do it again.
I am currently at the heaviest I have ever been and I know I need to make lots of changes to how I approach food. Although most of our meals are kind of Slimming World friendly, I know that I do not eat enough speed food (fruit and veg) and I really struggle with eating breakfast and lunch.
From experience, there are a few keys to success when following Slimming World and what makes it worse is that I know them all, yet I don’t do them! To keep me accountable I will be sharing my journey on Instagram and my blog and hopefully showing shedding the pounds and inches.
The 5 steps I will be taking to ensure Slimming World success
- Meal Planning
- Drinking more water (using the water my body app to track it)
- Eating 3 meals a day
- Eating a variety of fruit and vegetables every day
- Attend and stay at meetings
There are 29 weeks between now and Christmas and at 1lb a week that is just over 2 stone, at 1.5lbs a week that is over 3 stone and at 2lbs a week that is over 4 stone. Now I know I won’t be able to maintain a 2lb a week loss but I also know that I am capable of big losses, especially when I have so much to lose. I am going to set myself the goal of losing 3 stone by Christmas and for each pound that I lose I am going to save £10 in a separate account so I can buy myself some new clothes!
Wish me luck, and if you have any tips or tricks that you use when following Slimming World please do share them. I think I will need all the help I can get!
